Daizie Darker is an independent Pop/Rock artist hailing from Philadelphia, PA. With a captivating blend of dark and sultry tones, Daizie offers her listeners a truly unforgettable emotional journey. Often described as "soul-fed pop," her music draws inspiration from the influential female powerhouses of the 90s and early 2000s, including the likes of Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, and Kelly Clarkson.
Daizie's passion for music ignited at the tender age of 3, when she serenaded her family of nine with a self-composed song about daisies, effectively trapping them at the kitchen table. Since then, her love for singing has remained an unwavering companion. Growing up in San Antonio, TX, Daizie honed her craft through various avenues, from children's choirs and singing competitions to talent shows and church choirs. She also attended a performing arts high school, where she had the privilege of learning from esteemed vocal conductors, teachers, and coaches. Among them, her vocal coach, Darrin Newhardt, played an instrumental role in unleashing her impressive vocal range using techniques derived from the world of musical theater. As Darrin once advised her, "If you want to learn how to sing, learn showtunes. They will teach you EVERYTHING."
In 2015, Daizie embarked on a musical journey at Berklee College of Music, focusing on Music Business, Performance, and Songwriting. Following her studies, she relocated to Utah, where she commenced work on her debut EP album, "Keep the Change." Collaborating with acclaimed talents Oba Bonner, also known as "Obeeyay" (who has worked with artists like JoJo and Shahadi Wright Joseph), and Marko G (known for his collaborations with Lindsey Stirling), Daizie crafted a collection of songs that left a lasting impact. The EP's title track, "Keep the Change," stands out with its powerful yet sensitive composition and an explosive chorus that resonates deeply.
Daizie Darker has graced the stages of renowned venues including The Velour, Kung Fu Necktie, Dilworth Park, and The Grape Room, among others. Her latest single, "The Prayer," is now available on all major streaming platforms, showcasing her continued growth as an artist.
